Catchment management

Integrated Catchment Management Plans (ICMP) are used for planning and management of the stormwater system.

Integrated Catchment Management Plans (ICMP) are used for planning and management of the stormwater system.  For each stormwater management area, or catchment, issues are identified and prioritised, and solutions are identified and implemented.

There are 11 ICMP for Dunedin. They are mainly in the metropolitan Dunedin area (including Mosgiel and Port Chalmers).

We will use the ICMP to inform investigation and planning decisions and to help focus our priorities for future operational and capital works.

Implementing our ICMP is also a key requirement of our consents to discharge stormwater into the coastal marine area. Further information is available on the Stormwater monitoring page.

While the maps help us manage the reticulation networks, they are not detailed enough to account for specific, individual properties which may be affected by other factors not included in the models.
