Hi, I’m Danny Hailes.
I live and work in Blueskin Bay with my wife. We have two adult sons, twin granddaughters and a dog called Ruby.
My background is over thirty years of legal and corporate experience. I’m honest, hardworking and get things done.
I'm an experienced advocate and communicator with a strong commitment to community.
I know effective community governance requires listening, asking tough questions, exploring alternatives, and ensuring accountability. My approach combines professional scepticism and independent thinking with collaborative decision-making, always prioritising the best interests of the community.
Roading, Rubbish and Rates are of particular interest to me and I believe in local solutions to local challenges.
If elected to the Waikouaiti Coast Community Board I will do my best to ensure our community has a strong voice and relationship with the Dunedin City Council so our community gets best value for the rates we pay.
