About this track
The Greenacres Track starts at the end of Greenacres Street. There is no parking at the top of the street and turning around at the top is difficult. Park at the blue gum trees before the no caravans past this point sign. Follow the narrow gravel road up until you reach a private property fence (about 500m). Track signs will be visible on the right with an old bench for a quick stop if needed. The trail starts winding up through old pine, Macrocarpa and remnant native bush. As you progress up the trail, a mountain bike trail will start to intersect with the main pathway. Towards the top, the track transitions into open farmland with views of MacAndrew Bay and the Otago harbour.
Getting there
From Dunedin, travel along Portobello Road to MacAndrew Bay. Once at MacAndrew Bay, turn right down Greenacres Street and park at the large blue gums before the no caravans past this point sign.
Know before you go
Greenacres is a shared track. Please respect others, the track and give way to those going up.
