POOLE Marian - Candidate profile

My principal place of residence is in the West Harbour Community Board area. I am also standing for Council - At Large.
Marian Poole is an empathetic listener, a constructive problem solver and experienced manager.
She promises to bring these qualities to Dunedin City Council’s discussions.
Qualifications include a Doctorate in Music from Otago University, and a Horticulture Diploma specialising in permaculture. She reads Aotearoa NZ’s colonial histories and is currently learning Te Reo Māori.
Marian offers a career portfolio encompassing Bookseller, Sole trader in a garden nursery, Landlord with a self-managed portfolio, Market research contractor with subcontractors, Self-employed music teacher, Researcher, Freelance journalist and Public speaker.
Passions include engaging in logical debate and practical action on issues which promote a healthy and sustainable social and ecological environment.
Current community leadership roles undertaken to safeguard this vision include a successful submission to ORC Ecofund.
Dunedin environs have been Marian’s stamping ground for over 50 years. Its welfare remains the focus of her public service.
