Rates relief grant application

Rates Relief grant applications must be submitted using the online form, late and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Important Information About Applying For A Grant

  • Please complete one application form for each project and attach ALL supporting documents to this form.

    Classification of group or organisation seeking funding *required (Please note that the DCC considers applications from a variety of groups, but preference is given to formal groups with charitable intent)

    Has your group or organisation received funding from the Dunedin City Council in the past five years?

    Are tobacco or vaping products sold at the facility for which rates relief is sought? *required

    Are alcoholic drinks provided and/or sold at the facility for which rates relief is sought? *required

    To be eligible for a Rates Relief grant, applicants must make their facility available for wider community use.

    Rates Relief grants are intended for those that, in the opinion of the Council, provide a significant public good as a result of occupation of the property.

    Rates Relief funding priority will be given to groups or organisations that primarily serve priority groups or vulnerable populations.

  • Declaration and supporting documents

    Financial statements

    Please provide your most recent profit and loss statement (how much you earned and spent) and balance sheet (what you own and owe), preferably audited.

    If your group is a registered charity, you are welcome to use the financial information provided to the Charities Commission.

    Letters of support

    Please send support letters / testimonials from a person/people from outside of your group or organisation
