KNIGHT Anna - Candidate profile

Affiliation: Building Kotahitaka
My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area. I am also standing for Waikouaiti Coast Community Board.
A resident of Blueskin Bay, I am running for both council and the Wakouaiti Community Board. I believe in hard graft, fairness and having a good yarn. Best known locally as an environmental and social justice activist, if elected I will always keep the vulnerable front of mind. While mostly found indoors furiously translating, I am a nature lover and keen forager. I’ve also enjoyed my work as a volunteer for the Halo Project on the Ōkāhau trapline this past year.
Dunedin Hospital must be built once and built right. In either role, I’d advocate for tangata whenua, take the climate emergency seriously and promote investment in public housing. Tackling our transport system is another goal.
Born in Nelson in 1979 and educated at Otago University (BA Hons in French and English), after living for twenty years in France, I chose to come back to this beloved whenua.
