My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area. I am also standing for Mayor.
I bring a common-sense, practical approach to running the DCC, focused on sound governance, responsible spending, and excellent delivery of core services. With households and businesses under pressure from rising living costs, Council must lead by example. I propose a 5% rates reduction at the next review, followed by a three-year rates freeze, made possible through financial discipline, smarter planning, and less debt. I’ll also advocate for a freeze on councillor salaries for the next three years. My approach is efficient, thrifty, and focused on doing the basics well. I will champion genuine community representation and refocus Council on its core purpose: serving the people of Dunedin. I also bring a suite of economic initiatives which stimulate local activity and employment at no cost to ratepayers through innovative public-private partnerships. It’s time for fresh thinking, less waste, less debt, and a Council that listens. I’m standing to deliver exactly that.
