My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area.
Let’s put Dunedin back on the map and secure growth that capitalises on our proud built heritage that is unique.
And we need to act on this rates crisis. As a Future Dunedin candidate, I intend championing less wasteful spending; greater advocacy in Wellington to get our share of infrastructure funding; simpler planning rules for heritage building re-use; and penalties for owners relying on demolition by neglect. We need bespoke legislation for earthquake strengthening, and to recognise Dunedin as the heritage capital of New Zealand, like other successful world cities. I have a proven record as Southern Heritage Trust Chair, promoting protection of the city. As a Dunedin girl with deep family ties, I have local government and media experience to bring a well-informed city perspective. It’s often said Let’s stay a best-kept secret. But economic growth is vital because everyone deserves a thriving city we can be proud of.
