FINNIE Rose - Candidate profile

Affiliation: Green Party
My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area. I am also standing for Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board.
Locally-born with Filipino and Pākehā descent, I’m privileged to have grown up here in Ōtepoti Dunedin - and I’m passionate about the future of this city. I studied Communications at the University of Otago, and I currently work in both administration and in the disability sector.
My priorities if elected would be accessibility, housing, sustainability and liveable infrastructure. To achieve this, I will champion both community-led solutions and partnership with Mana Whenua.
I’m excited by the prospect of being able to give a voice to students and youth - representing a new generation of leadership. I’m also committed to listen to and advocate for communities who’ve been marginalised, or historically under-represented in local governance.
I value the importance of collaboration, empathy and being open to learning. I also recognise the necessity in honouring Te Tiriti.
The social wellbeing of our people, and the health of our city are my motivation.
