My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area. I am also standing for Mayor.
I seek to represent the people of Dunedin for a further term in Council.
I am committed to active listening, infrastructure action and practical plans for more jobs and better incomes for residents.
I am a successful, local businessman with mechanical skills and an Otago science degree.
With me as Mayor, Dunedin has achieved the full-sized hospital rebuild with two governments, retained our train, restored international flights, built a South Dunedin library and finally committed to flood protection.
Additionally, DCC focus has shifted to essential infrastructure with George St drivable, the 1-way system saved, parking protected, water services stepped up, a new landfill consented and recycling facilities underway.
Water, waste and power lines all still belong to Dunedin within pre-existing debt limits.
Although Dunedin tops Quality of Life, more effort is required on erosion, housing and council costs.
As Councillor, I will work on consensus-building, problem-solving and financial sustainability.
