My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area. I am also standing for Mayor.
I believe Dunedin can be better for all of us.
As your outspoken Councillor, I have exposed and stopped Citifleet car frauds, DCC companies losing millions in questionable subdivision speculations, and poor tendering value, resulting in better contract delivery, clearer pipes and mudtanks and reduced fraud.
Some backlash for exposing poor DCC performance has been untrue negative publicity.
As Chair of Finance and Council companies I have produced transparent Debt Graphs, detailed costs e.g. $600,000+ George Street playground, and refocused our companies to help off-set rates, getting our first $11 million dividend in a decade.
We need to free ourselves from the ORC, getting control and profits back from our Port and Harbourside land.
The DCC can have better events, Stadium use, culture and Arts industries, and tracks and trails for better access to our special places.
