My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area.
Rachel is a respected Dunedin lawyer with expertise in workplace relations and governance. She understands the challenges faced by small to medium businesses, having spent 20 years representing employers across Aotearoa. Now in private practice, Rachel is known for her legal acumen and commitment to transparent decision-making. She joins Future Dunedin with a vision for a council that upholds working collaboratively, fiscal responsibility, supports local businesses and prioritises genuine community engagement.
Rachel has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Night Shelter, Hospice Otago, Hospice New Zealand, Livingwell, SPCA, Women's Refuge and the Work Opportunities Trust.
Rachel believes in a society that respects diversity, Te Tiriti and fundamental human rights, advocating for the homeless, our vibrant queer community and the wellbeing of our youth. With her extensive experience across Dunedin’s legal, business and community sectors, she is ready to bring her expertise to build a stronger, more accountable city.
