The Dunedin City Council is asking for submissions on its draft Logan Park Management Plan.
Logan Park is a sport and recreation hub, providing facilities for a wide range of organised and informal sport and recreation activities and events.
In the first stage of consultation, held in mid-2023, the DCC heard what people thought about Logan Park, how they used it, what its biggest issues were, and what activities they would like in the future.
Key feedback received included:
- Support for Logan Park to function as a key sports hub
- High level of satisfaction with Logan Park’s central location
- The need to reconsider parking to better serve users of Logan Park without affecting pedestrian comfort and safety
- Support for other events such as Baseline and other music shows
- Improved facilities for all genders and abilities
- Concerns about oversubscription and groups not using the booking system.
The second stage of consultation runs from 1 September until 3 November.
DCC Group Manager Parks and Recreation Heath Ellis says, ““We used feedback from the first stage to develop the draft plan. The second stage of engagement will help us make good decisions about how Logan Park is used and protected.”
“The final plan will reflect what Dunedin people value about this space.”
Submissions can be made at www.dunedin.govt.nz/consultation until Monday, 3 November 2025.
