Profile
Jules Radich is currently serving his third term on Council having been a Councillor, then Mayor, and now Councillor again.
Born in Southland, Jules came to Dunedin to gain a science degree from Otago University. After teaching science and physics in Napier, he ventured forth on the typical NZ overseas experience which lasted several years including time working as a surveyor in Thailand, Turkey and Egypt before returning to Dunedin to start a motorcycle shop thus turning his enduring enthusiasm for two wheels into an occupation (1984-2004).
After selling Uptown Motorcycles in 2004, Jules managed the Golden Centre Mall for 3 years and remains a director. He then started Otago Business Coaching which he ran for 14 years, helping other business owners achieve their goals.
As a team sports player for 50 years, Jules appreciates the value of having everyone working to an overall plan but able to express their individual talents. Jules still rides a motorcycle, enjoys sea fishing, diving and wine tasting. He also plays underwater hockey and competes at local level where his teamwork philosophy has won many tournaments.
Jules believes that Pride of Place sits at the heart of everything, driving governance of the city, infusing our civil service and spreading out to the wider community. He upholds:
- Inclusive Participation
- Active Listening
- Pragmatic Positivity
- Care for Community.
