Under the Resource Management Act 1991, the DCC is required to review the District Plan every 10 years.
The Partially Operative Dunedin City Second Generation District Plan (2GP) is Dunedin’s second district plan developed under the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA).
Under the RMA, the DCC is required to review the provisions within its district plan at least every 10 years. A local authority may review all of its district plan provisions at once, or through a series of plan changes over time (“a rolling review”). The last full review of the district plan commenced in 2015 and the 2GP was made partially operative on 19 August 2024 with all but a few site-specific appeals having been resolved.
