Which option do you prefer?
Option Two – The alternative option – Keep Aurora Energy
Further comment
It would be extremely short-sighted to sell Aurora. They control access to the equipment needed to provide electricity to all of us. Is that something you want in the hands of someone wo is only interested in profit? Very bad idea.
Other people have mentioned what has happened in the UK with this sort of short-sightedness. I would add that it can be far more dangerous than that. Private energy companies (Southern California Edison and Pacific Gas and Electric)
in California were responsible for some of the worst fires in history in the last few years. Anyone buying a company like Aurora will want their billion dollar investment back right away, so the usual programme is to cut services, cut employees, and raise prices. Maintenence is reduced or non-existant leading to equipment failures. All for maximising profit.
If the Council wants to save some money, start with CEO's salary at Aurora and Delta.
If the Council really wants to sell something, sell the stadium that no one wanted in the first place (but got built anyway).
But really, selling Aurora would be a catastrophic failure on the part of the Council. I can't believe this is being seriously considered.
