Aurora energy provides an important service to the people residing in Dunedin. It is in the best interests of the residents for Aurora to remain under the ownership of the DCC rather than be sold to another company that prioritises profit and not hesitate to hike up electricity prices without regard for those who have already been hit hard by the cost of living crisis.
