Further comment
Energy production should not be privatised - this is not an industry where great benefits accrue to the public through market competition. Major benefits for the public accrue through having the ability to control our energy needs. Debts are a concern but viewing public utilities as if they are a business with expenses considered in narrowly monetary terms overlooks the purpose of public utilities which serve the public in many more economic ways than this. This proposal seems short-sighted, short-term and mostly economically unsophisticated.
