Lines companies bare part of an essential service and ideally would not have a profit motive in the first place.
I have serious concerns if Aurora was to be sold - what safeguards would be in place to prevent the new owner from under-investing in infrastructure again? Thank goodness the whistleblower made concerns public before there was a disaster.
Just look at examples of privatisation of essential public services: e.g. California wildfires due to lack of lines maintenance, or sewerage in the water in the UK whole the water companies rake in profits!
