Please do not privatise any part of our electrical infrastructure that isn't already. All across the world, when this happens, it ends up being a worse service for more money for the local residents and a city held hostage. Please don't be shortsighted; any investment gains and loss of debt will be overshadowed by future monopolistic practices. Once the consequences start to show themselves, it'll be too late and expensive to buy back.
