Option Two – The alternative option – Keep Aurora Energy
Further comment
Selling Aurora energy is a short term solution, that will not solve longer term problems and will create longer term problems.
The council will always have debts on its assets, better to look at how to manage them rather than selling a most important asset.
Who will buy it? Most likely an international buyer. Do we want an international interest to be looking after the most important thing in our modern world? Electricity, if we don't have electricity, our city will not run. It is the fundamental core on which we operate. Selling it may fix the problem now. But in 50-100 years we most likely will want control of this important asset, and once we sell it, we can never get it back.
