I say NO to selling Aurora Energy.
This Council does not have a mandate to make this decision. It must go to the next Local Body Election. It is not wise to sell a strategic asset.
One should not sell a strategic asset but should retain it for the benefit of future Dunedin ratepayers. Some are looking for a short term solution to our current situation. Others may be looking to access opportunities for private enterprise. The money left after the debts are paid, though invested, would be tempting to future Councils to access to pay what will be ongoing costs and be not there to support the future of Dunedin.
