From past observations: When government-run infrastructure is sold, the purchasers are often commercial entities who do not invest to maintain that infrastructure. Instead, they maximise profits while allowing the infrastructure to break down. At which point governments often have to buy it back (and fix it), because we need (for e.g.) power. Which is likely even more expensive. Don't go there. Invest in and maintain Dunedin's infrastructure.
