Aurora Energy is an essential service; ratepayers have to pay power bills, so reducing DCC debt and paying less in rates is a terrible reason to sell Aurora Energy. It's like selling the house to pay off the mortgage, with the result that you have to pay rent instead of mortgage. If DCC wants to pay back debt, sell off some of the commercial buildings instead.
