To sell an asset with the short term goal of paying off debts instigated by the council is do short sighted. What will DCC do when the debts build up again?
This asset should accumulate value with time so the city is best to keep Aurora Energy as well as city Forrests which has also been suggested as a sell-off. There has been a lack of investment over the years which is why there is now the need to spend and invest in the infrastructure. Too much profit taking instead of investing. The DCC needs to invest in real projects that benefit the whole community rather than social projects that benefit a few.
