I am very concerned about privatising this asset, fundamentally for two reasons: 1) I can see potential for large increases to my power bills (which have already increased significantly this year owing to changes in national government policy); and 2) there is also potential for a private owner to do what's happened with Aurora in the past - i.e. syphon off profits without reinvesting them as needed to maintain the infrastructure. If managed well, as Aurora seems to be at present, this can in time be an even more valuable asset (and one of enormous public benefit). Selling off this asset seems a bit like cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.
