Further comment
1. In spite of the general available information, the proposal seems glib or simplistic. I do not accept that the choices are so 'black and white' . Nor do I accept a sale will be on such advantageous terms to the DCC as is so cheerfully presented
2. The proposal to sell is in order to favour the DCC rather than its ratepayers.
3. Following that, the worst that could happen, as has happened with some divestments of lines companies elsewhere in New Zealand, is that the new owner is wholly and solely greedy. Not only that, but the previous ratepayers AND separately, all electricity consumers, will have no control over its rapaciousness.
4. Further, it could be that a foreign company becomes the new owner which additionally removes any sense of social concern for Aurora's previous consumers.
