Strong Wind Warning – Orange - Otago

MetService New Zealand has issued a strong wind warning with gale-force winds. There are reports of damage to trees, powerlines, roads and roofs, and power outages across the region.
Please:
- take care, stay home and only travel if needed.
- secure or bring inside loose objects or structures, and remove debris around your property.
- stay away from trees and wooded areas.

The Green Island Landfill and Dunedin Botanic Garden have been closed for the day. We are clearing roads when it's safe to do so, and closing roads where it is not. We’re also asking everyone to conserve water as power outages have affected pump stations across the city. Keep an eye on weather forecasts and check for updates as further warnings or changes in alert level may be issued: https://www.metservice.com
