What is your feedback on the proposed changes
As a mother who has spent many hours at the Port Chalmers library over the years, I know that the importance of nearby, longer term parking is vital to the safety of small children and the sanity of tired parents and caregivers. I completely reject the new proposal for this reason. Parks on the opposite side of the road with a pedestrian crossing are less than ideal under the circumstances of small children, prams, bags of books etc and the large oncoming trucks. Many parents and caregivers go to that library for story time with small children and half an hour is no where near long enough for this activity. The library is a vital hub of the community and limiting people's access to it is a very bad idea.
