Dear Committee,
I have lived in Port Chalmers for over 20 years. As a person who now has to use a walking stick and is unable to walk very far, I greatly value having closer parking access to a library. I am unable to utilise the city library because of the parking and size of the library itself. Losing access to the Port Chalmers library with parks outside will not allow me to visit for books. I would not be able to purchase my single DCC rubbish bags, print documents or have a sense of community with the staff who work there. Sometimes, a visit to the Port Chalmers library is a change of scene from feeling housebound. I think the plan for the new changes need to be scrapped in consideration of how this will affect many Port library users.
