As an employee that works in this area this is a terrible idea. I start at 3am and do 9 hour shifts how am I supposed to safely get to work and park without having to pay, (buses don’t run at this time). What’s the point in working when I spend money on paying for parking to work. If you are encouraging people of Dunedin to work, especially around that area, you will not change these car parks. It is hard enough as it is to park in that area let alone having to pay. I along with many others will be very disappointed if this changes and it will actually discourage me to work.
