I work in the South Dunedin area and find it very hard to get a park most days to go to work. This is because a lot of the parking in this area is already for two hours or less which doesn't allow for people working 8 hours plus. South Dunedin doesn't feel very safe at night so leaving work in the Winter in the dark is not ideal and quite frightening to have to walk a long way to our vehicle. (I have a previous experience with being followed). I don't understand why K Mart didn't build a carpark below or above their shop like Invercargill to allow for people shopping. It's not ideal to be crossing the road with a trolley and small children in tow to park at Mitre ten either. Please don't take away the few carparks we have available. Unfortunately catching a bus isn't an option for me with the hours I work and the part of town I live in as we have no direct buses.
