What is your feedback on the proposed changes
I work in the South Dunedin area, on King Edward Street. Where you are proposing the time limited parking is the closest all day parks available to me and my colleagues. There is not enough parking available for everyone in this spot as it is, and you have to arrive at 8am to secure one of these spots. I understand this is to try and alleviate the parking pressure at kmart, this should have been more thoroughly considered as part of their consent, the fact they aren't increasing parking as part of their proposal is bonkers. It is not fair to put pressure on local workers due to the lack for foresight. Is there anything you can propose for all day parks for workers? This isn't central dunedin, why should securing an all day park be so difficult? Perhaps opening some of the parks up between King Edward Street and Andersons bay road to longer periods is an option to replace these parks? Around the South Dunedin area you have large areas blocked as authorised vehicle zones. These parks are used twice a week for 10 minutes. The parks should be reduced in size as the size for 2 vehicles is plenty (currently one whole side of Westpac building is wasted.) Thank you.
