Parking for residents is already difficult due to a limited number of park for such a densely populated area. By removing parking where will these cars now park? Already on regular occasions do residents, including me have to park 100-300m away from thier home address. There is parking already within sporting facilities, which students do not use. There is also plenty of paid parking opportunities at forsyth (which is 200m away from the hocky turf), which is affordable for people driving to the sports ground. If they can drive thier suv and ute to a sports ground, they can pay a few dollars for parking. The restrictions would make students more vaunrable to parking fines, as there is very little unpaid/unrestricted parking still available close to their primary residence. To have to pay to park, or be at risk of a ticket for wanting to park in relative proximity to one's home is unfair, and would highlight the socioeconomic disparity seen in student lives.
