What is your feedback on the proposed changes
I think the proposed changes have limited benefits, and the negatives far outweigh these. As a resident, I believe that the changes are detrimental to the residents in all neighbouring areas. In regard to uni students, there is plenty of parking in all other areas around the university, both paid and time-restricted. This includes paid car parks and close the car park beside Forsythbarr These include, but are not limited to Clyde street, Albany street and Forth Street. Also being a university student, when driving to campus I have had no trouble finding parks near the area. Contrarily, as a resident, parking is extremely limited when examining the ratio of students in houses, and the availability of parks without time restrictions. The time that sports are normally on fall outside of university/work hours and thus, the uni attendees are no longer filling the carparks, leaving space for sports attendees to park. Additionally, a 4 hour time block does nothing to address the turnover of parks due to the long length of time. It simply gives uni students a limited time to be at campus, often much longer than 4 hours, whilst simultaneously forcing residents to park even further away in a city with already extremely limited resident parking. This proposed change leaves no solution for residents, making having a car that is necessary for daily living an infeasibility. Furthermore, as outlined this change does not truly benefit any group that it plans too, it simply overcomplicates a parking situation which poses no big concern with its current system. It must be understood that whilst harbour terrace has proximity to both the uni and the sports field, it is one of the only areas in the residential neighbourhood providing car parks to residents. These residents are also from neighbouring streets such as forth and clyde, as they have been subjected to time-restricted parks that have pushed them to find parking elsewhere
