I support having restricted parking in the area in front of the hockey turf and sports field. However, I support the DCC going further to restrict parking along Harbour Tce, Dundas St, St David St and other streets in the tertiary precinct. There are often several cars per flat, so students park their cars on the street during semester, and these are seldom moved outside of term break. This puts pressure on short-term parking for students, staff and members of the public. I also think restricted parking should require users to book their 240 min slot by keying in their number plate for a specific numbered park. This would make it more difficult for users to continue to park all day, rubbing off chalk marks. Ideally, parks would have a small monetary charge, 9am -3pm to help fund parking provision and put a value on parking.
