What is your feedback on the proposed changes
I cannot see the need to have all these different parking times in this block. I believe what would be required is a maximum of 60 minute parking and a drop off/delivery zone in the block between manor place and high street. Keep it simple. P5 parks are ridiculous as you cannot transact business, pick up a coffee, visit an apartment, or visit a retail shop in 5 minutes. There are three retail businesses and 19 apartments at 300 Princes Street, there are two food outlets next door, at least 4 businesses in the Bing Harris Building and a hotel on that side of the road. People need to be able to drop in as visitors for up to an hour at all these places. I suggest a maximum of 60 minutes would still allow ample turnover for these parks as not everyone would be there for a whole hour but would be for more than 5 minutes. I also don't see the necessity of allocating 2 taxi parks if you have just made two taxi parks permanent directly across the road outside 283 Princes Street. I suggest the current coach park remains as a "drop off zone, short time delivery, valet parking" outside Fable - this zone could expand into the top P5 park (marked in green). But why can't the rest of the parking be a maximum of 1 hour. So my suggestion working down from Manor Place end is: 4x P60 | Loading Zone (equivalent of 3 parks or an appropriate length to include an airport shuttle) | 2x P60 | 2x P60 | Bus Stop. I am frequent visitor to the apartment building, have worked in the Bing Harris building and often have picked up a coffee in this block over the last 15 years and so know that I use these parks for various reasons. Max P60 would certainly work for my varied messages.
