I am an owner of 52 Russell St. I support the proposed changes, but I would also like to request that Residents' Parking be provided outside 52-58 Russell Street. The reason for this are:
1) We had planned to install off-street parking at the front of our property (the old Sunday School), however, when the roundabout was installed on the corner of Russell Street and Arthur Street recently, our vehicle crossing (onto Arthur Street) was removed by contractors when the footpath was sealed. This was done without any consultation or even notification to us. As a result, we no longer have street access to the only area of our property that would be suitable for installing off-street parking and, therefore, the only parking option available for our property is on the street. We would install off-street parking from the Arthur Street entrance if this option was available to us.
2) I am aware that there is a new cafe planned in the old dairy over the road from us, which we thoroughly support, but I am concerned that demand on parking near the cafe will create an issue for on-street parking in the vicinity of our place. There is already quite a demand during office/school hours. Because we no longer have any other option for parking off-street, I would like to request a block of residents parks to be installed outside 52-58 Russell Street to accommodate residents once the cafe is up and running.
Apart from that, we support every other aspect of the proposed parking changes.
