I work in the John Wickliffe house along with 50 other tenants with a lot of employees - probably over 1000. Many of us and surrounding business workers use these parks to work to pay their mortgage which is already hard enough in NZ's current cost of living crisis. Having to move my car 5x a day is ridiculous and money-driven. If the council truly care about it's citizens, it wouldn't introduce such changes like this and driving 40km/ph along Brighton Road! This area isn't directly in the township so there is no need to make them a reduced amount of time. There are plenty of 60-120min parkings available all the time on Princess St - 30sec walk away. I have no issues having to move my car once a day at lunchtime, but I couldn't get time off my work roster to move it 5 times. Introduce changes that matter to the people and make a positive difference in their lives, not ones that put money in your pocket because no one can afford right now.
