What is your feedback on the proposed changes
Thanks for the opportunity to submit on these proposed changes. While I support action being taken to discourage parking on this section of Queens Drive, I am concerned that the proposed changes will perpetuate the existing dangerous parking arrangements at the junction of City Road and Queens Drive. I fail to see how a parking area of suitable size to allow for two-way traffic in the proposed location will still allow the existing footpath to be comfortably used by pedestrians, mobility scooter users, and so on. I would prefer to see the council undertake regular enforcement activity in an area which until recently was apparently designated as a no-parking zone, being formerly marked with a dotted yellow line, and is still marked off with large posts which appear to be intended to discourage parking. From a personal point of view, I am also concerned that the proposed changes will prevent my partner and I from easily accessing the top part of our property as circumstances dictate - for example, deliveries of various kinds would be much more troublesome under the proposed arrangement. If the changes go ahead as proposed, these concerns could be addressed and eliminated if a parking permit or designated space was able to be obtained for the part of Queens Drive above our property.
