As a long time resident in this area, I support the proposed changes. Currently, this area is too congested with parked cars (primarily Otago Boys' students), causing issues for people who walk/run/cycle along this narrow road. There are also many children walking to and from Arthur Street School, and the parked cars reduce visibility, both for the children and for any vehicular traffic. It's also good to discourage the use of cars -- as I indicated, most of those parking there are high school boys, and it would be better if they were encouraged to cycle, walk or use public transport to get to school.
