Dog limit in public spaces – individuals may have up to six dogs under their care in public spaces. Written permission is required for exceptions. Details about permits and conditions will be available in early 2025.Leash requirement in coastal dunes - dogs must be leashed in all coastal dune areas including access paths, to protect wildlife.

For example, unless specified elsewhere, dogs must be on leash on roads, footpaths, tracks, cemeteries and beaches. See the policy schedules for all of the proposed rules. Dogs must be kept under control in all public places at all times.
