Stage 2 consultation
The Dunedin City Council is asking for submissions on the future of the Town Belt.
The views of residents in the wider Dunedin area are being sought on the Town Belt, which covers 202 hectares across several hill suburbs and is the city’s most high-profile reserve. One of only three Victorian Town Belts in the world, it is recognised and appreciated by Dunedin people for its recreational, landscape, amenity, ecological, cultural, historical and educational values.
Feedback will help to shape the Draft Dunedin Town Belt Reserve Management Plan.
Earlier this year, we staged our initial consultation process, inviting people to provide feedback about the Town Belt, how they use it, what its problems are and how they can be solved.
As we embark on the second stage of consultation, we encourage the public to share their ideas on ways they think the area can be improved and what activities they would like here in the future.
This feedback will help us make good decisions about how the Town Belt is used and protected.
