9 year plan feedback

Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)

Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
Sell it!

Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
No, do not introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST)

Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
We should be a welcoming city to all, including international visitors

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
Zero Carbon - It is essential for the future of humanity that everyone does everything they can to reduce emissions. It is a massive betrayal of your duty not just as civic leaders, but as human beings, not to include funding for zero carbon initiatives. Housing - It is essential for a growing city that more houses are built. DCC needs to play its part, by building more community housing, as previously promised. Buses - Should be free for everyone, always! For just over $3m a year, DCC could subsidise ORC's delivery of public transport in Dunedin and make the buses free for everyone. This would have massive benefits for our city. Cycleways - The Tunnels Trail to Mosgiel should be progressed asap. Rates - Should be higher! Rates across NZ are cheap, and Dunedin's rates are at the cheaper end. Forget about trying to keep below a 10% or 5% or whatever percent cap, it costs what it costs, and its the cost of living in our great small city. We need a balanced budget so we can start paying down debt, and we need to fund everything and more besides. Les Mills gym membership is $1,700 per year, how much more do I get for my rates? Twice as much? Ten times as much?

Local Water Done Well feedback

Which water services delivery model do you support?
A Three Waters Council-Controlled Organisation (CCO)

Why did you choose this option?
Politicians will always try to keep rates low, and therefore funding for 3 Waters will be low. It needs to be managed by a non-political body, so that it can be funded appropriately, which will mean unpopular, but necessary increases in fees.

Do you have any other feedback related to the proposed water services delivery models?
Politicians will always try to keep rates low, and therefore funding for 3 Waters will be low. It needs to be managed by a non-political body, so that it can be funded appropriately, which will mean unpopular, but necessary increases in fees.
