Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
I would like to see 231 Stuart Street sold and re-purposed or turned into a live venue to support local talent in a range of disciplines.
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
Yes, introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
When we travel overseas, it is not uncommon to be charged to enter museums and galleries. I think though it is important to maintain it as a free service for locals.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
The proposed rates rises concern me. We are currently still in a cost of living crisis, and for many people a 10% increase over the next 3 years will be challenging when food, electricity and transport costs are also rising. I would like to see more responsible spending by the council. As we do with our personal budgets, we should prioritise essentials like maintenance over the nice to haves.
