Submission

9 year plan feedback

Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)

Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
As a theatre it was never a completely satisfactory venue, and it certainly is not doing any good being on the council's books if it is not being repurposed in any other way. However the issue is if removing it from the list of strategic assets means it will be at risk of being demolished. If there is a way to ensure a sale of the property would not lead to demolition or dereliction of the site then I would be in favor of removing it from the strategic asset.

Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
Yes, introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) (this is our preferred option)

Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
This would presumably be a volunteer fee rather than requiring gallery staff to ask for proof such as passports etc? Simply asking 'are you a visitor' being enough to charge? However will that fee go back to the gallery and museum or will that money simply be siphoned off into other parts of the council's budget.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
What about Sammy's? What purpose is it to have the council still own it if it is not going to redevelop it. Given it bought the building to prevent it being demolished why has it not done anything since then? Seems it will ultimately be demolished anyway or it will be demolished by default by being neglected and falling into disrepair.

Local Water Done Well feedback

Which water services delivery model do you support?
The Council’s preferred option: an in-house delivery model

Why did you choose this option?
Could work out being cheaper and would retain the asset.

Do you have any other feedback related to the proposed water services delivery models?
