Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Yes, remove 231 Stuart Street from the list of strategic assets (this is our preferred option)
Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
Yes, holding Assets for no other reason than the building is old is really not helpful to growing Dunedin. Sammy's too.
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
No, do not introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST)
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
Your questions are really poorly worded to not allow other options than your set agenda... $20 is too steep, I'd support a more moderate entry fee i.e. $10
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
The Rates increases are way to steep and the DCC needs to find ways to reduce spending / increase revenue that aren't just whack rates up year on year forever. Every other operation in NZ has to run within its budget yet Councils believe they can just increase rates to whatever they want whenever they want.
The bike track at Marlow Park already adds a lot of new factor to the Playground, I would suggest money could be spent on upgrading some other playgrounds. Fenced ones are even better for young kids. I'd love to see Dunedin investigate and indoor / all weather playground due to our climate. Aussie have sun shades on every playground, we don't really have anything, be nice to have something with some rain shelter / wind breaks that's unique to Dunedin's climate vs novelty see saws in town.
Local Water Done Well feedback
Which water services delivery model do you support?
The Council’s preferred option: an in-house delivery model
Why did you choose this option?
I don't think it much matters, either will get bogged down with bureaucracy and lack of funding
Do you have any other feedback related to the proposed water services delivery models?
