Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
No, keep 231 Stuart Street as a strategic asset
Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
It is an iconic building and a real shame it hasn’t been able to be used meaningfully in recent times, particularly in support of performing arts.
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
No, do not introduce an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST)
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
I agree with charging a fee, but needs to be set at a level that doesn’t deter visitors.
A fee of something like $12.50 makes it seem so close to $10, whereas $15 makes you think “that’s almost $20!”.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I support the Tunnels Trail project to develop a Shared Path/Cycleway between Mosgiel and Caversham, and want it added back in to the Annual Plan for immediate action. The Tunnels Trail project should be funded without delay, and given high priority, with a focus of delivering operational sections as soon as possible. While NZTA co-funding may not be currently available, other sources of co-funding need to be investigated, or allow the Trust/Community to independently proceed with development. The Tunnels Trail is Dunedin's internal transport corridor between the coast and the Plain, as well as our link to the wider Otago cycleway network.
Being a regular commuter to Dunedin from Mosgiel I would love to be able to make that trip without the added expense of needing an electric bike to do the journey in a reasonable timeframe,
I am a regular user of other trails in Otago and I see the huge benefits and attraction these trails provide, and we need off road routes to complete the connection to Dunedin.
