9 yr plan 2025 and Local Water Done Well Submission

Submission

9 year plan feedback

Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?

Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?

Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?

Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
Re the draft 9 year plan, the Broad Bay Community Centre (BBCC) acknowledges that rates have to increase to pay for services and proposed improvements. We support in particular the funding to complete the final three stages of the roading project: Te Awa Ōtākou - Peninsula Connection. The sections not completed yet present hazards for road users and pedestrians, including school children. When so much work has been done already to make the Peninsula Connection a safer road and a valuable asset for all users it would be a shame not to complete it as soon as possible. Regarding the rate increases, however, for some people and organisations it is impossible to meet the current rates, let along an increased rate, making the giving of rates relief grants immensely important. Organisations such as the BBCC provide a service - a hub and meeting place for the well-being of the local community. Other local community halls have their rates/expenses covered whereas BBCC has to cover its own costs so rates relief is essential for the survival of the Centre. We are grateful for the support received in the past and urge the Council to continue to help people and organisations who are struggling with these charges.
