Should we remove 231 Stuart Street (formerly the Fortune Theatre) from the list of strategic assets in the DCC Significance and Engagement policy?
Do you have any comments about 231 Stuart Street?
Should we charge an entry fee of $20 (incl. GST) for international visitors aged 16 and over, at Toitū and Dunedin Public Art Gallery?
Do you have any comments about the entry fee for international visitors?
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
Re: Te Awa Ōtākou / Peninsula Connection Rd Safety Improvement Project.
This Project has been on the books of the DCC since 2015 and should have been completed by 2023 / 2024.
It is good to see that the Council has seen fit to finally complete this project in the next 4 years and the people of the Peninsula and greater Dunedin will be able to enjoy a truly wonderful amenity, being able to ride and walk in safety from Portsmouth Drive to the bottom of the hill leading to Tairoa Heads and the Albatross Colony, Natures wonders, OPRA [formally Penguin Place] and our lovely newly reclaimed Te Rauone Beach and Reserve area.
I think the timing and stages are spot on.
1 Ellison Road to Otakou Fisheries Wharf 2026-27
This stretch of road, in my view, would be the worst piece on the Harington Point Road.
I personally have had a number of close calls on two of the tightest corners and luckily have been able stop in time or find enough room to pass.
There are a lot of people using this stretch of road whether they be cyclists or pedestrians, and completing this section will mean they can use it in safety.
2 Tidewater Drive to Ellison Road 2027-28
It will make this section of road a lot safer for cyclists as at the moment it can be very frustrating for motorists and cyclists at busy times of the day.
3 Portobello to Weir Road 2028-2029
It is very important that this part of the road is not forgotten as it will make it a lot safer for the children to get to and from the school.
The sooner all 3 sections are completed the better.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Dunedin City Council Councillors and staff for the fantastic job they have done so far, it is great to see the number of people using the shared path all the way from Portobello to town when we drive to town every week and it will be even better when the whole of Te Awa Otakou/ Peninsula Connection is completed.
Yours sincerely
Jim and Elaine Shanks
